Autoloader Unlock Dim

The autoloader can run unlock job in BE2010 R2, but after upgrading to BE15, unlock and lock is dim as attacched screen. Would you please advise? Thanks

For BE 2012 and above, BE does not lock the library. Hence the lock and unlock are greyed out. To change this behaviour, see this document http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH67698

Does it mean I should run once unlock job before upgrading from  BE2010 R2 to BE15 ? And then BE15 will not lock the tape any more?

For my situation, can ask user to unlock from the autoloader panel?

After changing the value in registry key, I can unlock the autoloader on MMS. But I cannot do it on CAS and cannot try to make a schedule job on CAS. The option in CAS is still dim. What can I do to make it action in CAS?

According to Admin guide, the BE15 will not lock the job any more, does it mean we don't need to set schedule job to unlock autoloader in CAS? Thanks

If you set the registry value, it means that BE will lock the tape library.  If you do not set the library, BE will not lock the library and hence you do not need to unlock the library.

Did you make the registry change on ALL your BE CAS & MMS servers?

Power cycling the tape library will also unlock the library, but an instance of BE with the registry key set to enable locking the library may re-lock it.
