Automated BE jobs fail

Peter_B65
Not applicable

Hello,

i got a strange error in Backup Exec 2010R2:

Automatically started jobs fail with the error "The logon account that was provided does not have valid credentials. Ensure that the user name and password are correct, and then try again."

If I start the same job manually (run now) everything is fine.

Any ideas where to look after the problem?

Thanks

Peter

Hi Peter,

What happens if you create a new temporary selection list and job and choose that it runs automatically? Does it then run properly? If so, then consider creating a new job and selection list as there might be some sort of corruption in your selection list/backup job.

However, you should also consider an upgrade to BE 2010 R3 with SP2 and any subsequent patches. R3 fixes a number of issues with the 2 previous versions of BE 2010. You can use the same licenses.

If you do the upgrade, grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders (stop the BE services!) before doing the upgrade. Then run LiveUpdate to install the SP2 for BE 2010 R3 and run it again for any additional patches. Once done, pus-install these updates to your remote servers.

Thanks!

1.Copy the Data and Catalog Folder before any Upgrade.

2. Please Refer this Article http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO21779
