Automatically cancelling a job when a tape is not present

I adminisrate a tape backup using BE 11d for Windows but I am not on site everyday.  I rely on someone to change the tape on a daily basis which ejects automatically after the job completes.  Naturally this doesn't always go as planned and the job remains queued until another tape is put in at which time it executes.  I want the job to cancel automatically if there is no tape in the drive and continue on with the schedule.  In effect I want to skip the missed job, remove it from queued status and move on.  Can anyone tell me the best way to do this?  Thanks.

Hmmm. The only thing I see you can use is in "Device and Media" for the job is to use "Append to media, terminate job if no media is available". But I am not sure how the appending is going to treat you.

Tools - Alert Categories.

Select Media Insert, Check the box for "automatically clear alert after"  Set the time that you want to wait and change "Respond with" to cancel.

That should automatically cancel the job if no tape is inserted.
