Automatically clear alert after is greyed out

In configure alert categories options that need changes have options greyed out for the Automatically clear alert after.  Is this by design or is there something to modifiy allowing these options to be utilized?

Exactly what alert you trying to configure ? Automaticallly clear alert is not applicable for all alerts.

Only for some perticular alert types that option is enabled. Like media insert, media overwrite etc..

Automatic clear option is disabled for errors, job start,job success,Backup job contains no data,media intervention and device intervention alerts.

For the alerts other than errors, if you enable that alert type, automatic clear option for that particular alert also will get enabled.
