Hi,
Server: Backup Exec 2012
Client: NAS Box
Issue: Successful completion with Exceptions "Remote Agent Not Detected"
In our environment, we are taking backups successfully from NAS boxes. But after the sucessfull completion of the Backup job, there are errors thrown with Exceptions as "Remote Agent not detected".
Knowing that the NAS boxes added as a client of File Server Type, which does not have remote agent, why is it checking for a remote Agent, and how to avoid this Exception.

Refer to the below forum thread for similar query.

There is also an IDEA filed to get rid of the exception.

Thanks for the update.
Is Symantec Backup Exec team, looking on such basic requirements that needs to be provided?
Knowing that the Type of client Installed does not have an ability to Install Remote Agent, it can be easily sorted out by not checking the remote agent for File Servers Types or NAS.
The user who is getting panic'ed by these exception messagaes and throught of helping by providing a feedback to Symantec through this Forum

All Symantec Connect content was moved over to Veritas VOX about 3 years ago, except for the IDEAS section.
IDEAS were abandoned because there is a different method to request product enhancements.
