Avoid allowing the disk to become completely full - BEX 2012

Hi!

What is the best way to avoid allowing the disk to become completely full automatically? I want to backup to disk but If any virtual already protected, the job overwriting that virtual machine on the disk.

Hello Luk,

    With BE 2012 you need to set the retention time (for how much duration the backups needs to be protected) in the backup job when the backups are going to disk. Ones that period is passed the medias are expired and the next backup with overwrite the jobs.

 In BE 2012 there is a new feature called Data Life-cycle Management (DLM) which is used to manage the expired (overwritable media).
