BACKUP RESUME USING BE 2012

Hello,

Is it possible to configure Backup Exec 2012 to resume backup from where it last stoped?

This is incase of apower shutdown on the server.

For now all I see is the backup begins from zero ( 0 )

Advise Please

YES. With BE 2012 it is possible to start the backups from where is failed last time.

This option is called Checkpoint restart. You have enable this option in Backup job.

In the backup job go to Advanced Open File.... there you will see a checkbox "Enable Checkpoint Restart"... select this checkbox.

Also note that this option works for only Files & folder backups and not for database backups.

Hi,

Checkpoint restart is the option to start an interrupted job again from the same point where it was interrupted. And note this also: Checkpoint restart cannot restart a backup job until it has backed up at least 32MBof data. if the backup job is failed before that then it will not be restarted automatically.it has to be restarted manually. And Checkpoint restart is only supported for NTFS volumes.
