BE 11d Can't connect to mapped drive

I have a Windows 2000A server with Backup Exec 11d. When I map a share from a Windows 2003 server as say drive H:, Backup Exec refused to connect to it as a backup to disk folder, the error is "The system cannot find the path specified"
Am I doing this wrong? Why can the server map the drive but BE cannot connect?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

When the job runs, if no one is logged on, there are no mapped drives

use either a UNC ot TCPIP address to define a network share as a B2D folder
