BE 12.0 Job not using the tape full capacity

Hi
I have a huge monthly job to run and this is over 1.8TB.
This job used to take 6 x 400/800GB LTO3 tapes now its taking a lot more because its only recording less than 200GB on each tape.
There is no compression possible because the files are already compressed but in any case the Compression is set on the job setup and on the tape drive.
Is there a reason for this?

Hi there,

Make sure your append settings are correct.
There might already be data on the tape, and it's using what's left.
Are you setting your job to overwrite the media?

I had this same problem with version 11d only ours was backing up 1GB on a completely blank tape then saying it was full and moving on to the next tape.  Our issue was solved by upgrading to 12.5 SP3.  Not sure if that is a possibility for you but we didn't waste any time troubleshooting the issue as we were preparing to upgrade anyways.

Hello,

Please try changing the Media Set Properties for the Media Set used in this job, Change the Append Period to "Allow Infinite Append" so it will utilize the complete tape space
