BE 12.5 Best Strategy for SAN?

We have been using BE 11.x now for a year with traditional NAS & MSL4048 connected to DL380. 
 
I want to retire this environment keeping the MSL4048 but moving to BE 12.5 on a Blade server (BL465) connected to an EMC Clarion via iSCSI.

I would like to use B2D for the initial backup, then copy the disk backups to tape for off-site storage.

Has anyone attempted this configuration?  Is it possible out of the box?

Backup Exec has a duplicate job option that allows you to duplicate the data from a B2D onto a tape - so yes it can be done.

Can't confirm whether there are any issues with your hardware - although if the Clarion is backend storage for a Celerra filer then the NDMP option might comes into consideration (although not if you are only using the Clarion for a B2D store)
