I'm trying to restore a mailbox from a backup-to-disk full backup that was taken of our Exchange 2007 server. I receive the following error when trying to expand the Information Store on the View by Media tab of the Restore dialog;
[SYMANTEC][Backup Exec Catalog Driver] (The version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Tools on the Backup Exec media server must be the same version or later as the management tools that are on the Exchange Server 2007 that you want to back up.)
I've checked the version of the Management Tools on both our Exchange cluster and media server, they are 8.1.240.6 and 8.1.393.1 respectively. So the media server actually has newer tools than the Exchange server. The media server has been rebooted since the latest tools were installed, but the backup was taken with earlier tools. Could it be that the backup needed to be taken with the same tools as the Exchange server, even though the backup didn't produce any errors?
Any advice would be greatly aprreciated.
