Dear all
After install of SP2 and new Device driver, the backup of one drive failed with Final error: 0xe00084f0 - The device timed out.
I am using a HP MSL2024 tape library with 2 drives
Hardware is checked by HP and L&TT, no errors.
Reinstall of driver (DDI20081215 Device Driver Installer) does not work.

I also receive events like this

Adamm Mover Error: Read Failure!
Error = ERROR_TIMEOUT
Drive = "Drive 1"
{223D3D9D-28A1-4EC6-BA77-C3D3207CFC3D}
Media = "ZU7983L3"
{23FBA4E2-B2DC-4753-845C-34BC508B5D70}
Read Mode: SingleBlock(0), ScsiPass(0)
Write Mode: SingleBlock(1), ScsiPass(1)

Adamm Mover Error: DeviceIo: 00:00:05:00 - Retry Logic: Failed to space to end of data on device: HP Ultrium 3-SCSI

Adamm Mover Error: DeviceIo: 06:00:05:00 - Refresh handle on "\\.\Tape0", SCSI cmd 00, new handle 754, error 1117

Adamm Mover Error: DeviceIo: 00:00:05:00 - Retry Logic: Retry logic was engaged on device: HP Ultrium 3-SCSI

an so on...

Question:
How can I go back without reinstall BackupExec
Can I use the HP driver instead the "beta" one of Symantec?
Any suggestions are really appreciate

Best regards
Michael

Is the issue repeatable on multiple tape drives?  multiple media?  multiple jobs?  every time?  intermittant?

If it is easily and widely reproducible, I would suggest creating the simplest, smallest backup of a few local files and then capture it with tracer.
