What I have (BE 12.5 2213)
CAS and 2 MMS servers
CAS installed on our DC (before my time) - All jobs run from it.
MMS server connets to Tape Backup (local)
MMS server connets to Tape Backup at DR (same OS and Tape Hardware on MMS servers) - used for restoring large data from tape (small pipe)
- Need to move CAS to my MMS servers at DR site (havng to catalog is getting old)
Will this work? (Small shop)
Remove MMS option from both servers and make stand alone (all jobs run from CAS) (either add/remove or through BE Tools/Licensing)
Remove CAS from CAS server to make stand alone.
Copy Catalogs /Sql of CAS server only to DR stand alone from old CAS
Bring up BE at DR site and then add CAS license to it
Bring up each Stand alone BE and add MMS license back to them ... actually I'd like to just take BE off of the Domian server completely .. Only reason it is still in play is because of CAS ...
Thoughts?
