I am using BE 2010 going directly to Tape. Currently I am not using any partitions. If I create partitions and assign them to my jobs, will the jobs run at the same time?
Example:
I have an Exchange Full/Diff and a Server Full/Diff. I'd like for both jobs, Exchange and Server to run at the same time if possible. If each job is assigned its own partition, can they run at the same time?

Thats right, since you have 1 Tape drive you will be able to run only 1 job at a time
irrespective of the number of partitions you create.

Hello
It depends on the number of tape drives you have in the library.

I have 7 tapes to use. So lets say I create 2 partitions, one consisting of 5 tapes and the other of 2 tapes. Will both jobs run at the same time if each job is assigned its own partition?

If you have 2 Tape drives then you will be able to run 2 jobs at the same time.
How many tape drives you have ?

Sorry I misunderstood you before; I only have one tape drive/robot. After thinking about it some more, I assume since only 1 tape can be mounted for writing, that it won't matter how many partitions I have. Is this correct?
