BE 2010 R3 no access to SMB shares

Hi,

under BE 2010 R2 I had no problem to access to the SMB shares of a Synology Rackstation RS810rp+ and backed them up. Now after update to BE 2010 R3 I could not access to the SMB shares, I get "access denied" with the same credentials like before. Is there something different between R2 and R3?

Thank´s for helping

Bernd

Backup Exec uses the default login to list and connect to User Defined Shares.  When connecting to a Samba share on a Linux server, there must be a Samba user on the server with a username and password that matches the username and password for Backup Exec's default login.

The workaround for this issue is to create a Samba user on the Linux system that matches the username and password used in the default account with Backup Exec.

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH150205 (Backing up Samba shares (CIFS) on Linux servers using Backup Exec)

Hope this helps.
