We are using BE 2010 and backup the data using VM Suite as all servers are in ESX.
We want to test the restore in one server with SQL Server.
In the restore job, we open the server, and see Microsoft SQL Server. When we open the Microsoft SQL Server, all database sizes is only 9k.
At first, we suspect the logon credential issues. However, when we try to use the sam logon credential to do SQL backup on the same server, we can successfully directly backup the sql database & restore as well.
Is that using VM suite will not allow restore through SQL Agent?

Hi Ivan,
I take it that you have SQL GRT restores selected under Tools --> Options --> VMware?
Also, what do you see in your selection list? Can you see the SQL server instances correctly?
Lastly, you're not using AOFO with your backups correct? If you are, turn that off...it is known to cause issues with database backups.
Thanks!

Yes! SQL GRT Enabled.
Dorung Restore, I can open the SQL Server in the Restore List and see the SQL Instance and database correctly. It just all database size becomes 9k.
AOFO? not using.

OK...next step...uninstall the agent license on your media server, and restart your services before reinstalling the license.
Also, look at updating your media server with any available patches.
Lastly...can you post a screen dump of your settings for your backup? Just edit out anything sensitive.
