I upgraded a client from BE 2010 R3 to BE 2012 and I've got 3 linux servers that are completing each night with the message "The remote computer is running a previous version of the Backup Exec Agent for Windows. You must upgrade the agent for Windows to enable secure communication between the agent and Backup Exec servers.". I have updated the agent by running installraluspatch.sh, which was part of ralus4164SP1.tar that was incluced with the BE 2012 installation. If I view the properties of each of the servers, it says "Do the updates installed on this server match the updates installed on the backup server: Yes". Is there some other step that I need to take to get these agents updated?

From the BE 2012 installation media, there is a directory named LinuxUnixMac & you should be using the installer present in this directory & not by running installraluspatch.sh
Here is a KB on installing RALUS - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH46461
installraluspatch.sh is used when you want to apply an update such as a hotfix etc...this is the KB for doing so - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH185802
