BE 2012 agent & Veritas Cluster & Sharepoint 2013

Hello,

I have problem with backup of Sharepoint Farm 2013 on Windows 2012 servers. The databases are on 2 nodes Veritas Cluster. The physical nodes are DB11 and DB12, Sharepoint instance is on DB14 and the Sharepoint configuration is set to DB14\Sharepoint.

But BE 2012 SP 4 doesn't recognise the topology of Farm, and in Farm properties I can see setup of configuration database as DB11\Sharepoint, doesn't  matter on which node is the cluster switched. The result is, that the backup is working only if the cluster is switched to node DB11.

In the SPSwrapper log I can see these kind of messages:

[0d68] 04/14/14 12:49:30 ContentDB Server  is CZPRAGDB14\SHAREPOINT

[0d68] 04/14/14 12:49:30 ContentDB Display Name  is SP2013P_WSS_Content_Intranet

[0d68] 04/14/14 12:49:30 Id  is ece38b39-e5d7-4207-9edf-1580d523be8b

[0d68] 04/14/14 12:49:30 Calling Add of SpsList for SP2013P_WSS_Content_Intranet
[0d68] 04/14/14 12:49:30 ContentDB Server  after  verify is CZPRAGDB11\SHAREPOINT

Does somebody know, what kind of verification the BE agent did in this step? Unfortunately the Symantec helpdesk guys doesn't know it :-(.

Thank's, Iveta

Btw. We have old farm with Microsoft Cluster and there is no problem with backups.

Veritas Cluster is part of Veritas Storage Foundation which is not supported.  See page 57 of the SCL below

Yes, I know. But the backup with DB agents is OK....

Maybe we can find the way how to setup the cluster, if we will know, what kind of verification the sharepoint agent run.

Even if you find a way you will be implementing an unsupported solution

The question was:

Does somebody know, what kind of verification the BE agent did in this step?
