BE 2014 and SQL data deduplication question

One of my customers wants to use Symantec Backup Exec 2014 to backup his MSQ SQL data. They use MS SQL 2012 and MS SQL 2014. The question is: can BE effectively compress MS SQL backups? If yes, will it produce smaller backups than native SQL tools?

Have a look @ this KB, specifically the compression section - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO99682

I am not sure if it will produce smaller backups than the native SQL tools, however it should be around the same size. (As BE invokes the SQL compression due to this setting and not BE compression)
