BE 2014 & name resolution issues

I recently upgraded our BE 3600 appliance to 2014 SP1. I am having issues getting it to talk to all of my Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V hosts. It acts like it's a name resolution issue, but I am able to ping the servers by name from the Backup Exec server. I am able to successfully connect to the servers in Backup Exec using their ip addresses.

What's puzzling is I have six Hyper-V hosts, all on the same subnet and configured the same. Backup Exec can talk to two of those by name. It needs the ip address for the other four.

The agent is installed and running on all of these servers.

If I try to remove one of these servers from Backup Exec (since it lets me add it to my list even though it cannot talk to it), I get errors such as ""Communication with the server timed out on the call 'DeleteResourceContainer'."

Any ideas?

Is there AV running on the Hyper-V hosts? If there is make exclusions for the Backup Exec Processes.

Refer to this document for itroubleshoothing these types of issues with Hyper-V backups http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH216944

No AV running on the Hyper-V hosts.
