Hello,
Initially we suggest you to uninstall the existing agent.
1. Stop the Backup Exec Remote Agent Service on the remote machine
2. Remove the Backup Exec Remote Agent serial number via Additional Options from the Backup Exec server (not the remote server)
3. On the remote machine, open REGEDT32 and remove the keys below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Agent Accelerator for Windows NT/2000
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BackupExecAgentAccelerator
Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
4. Delete the following folders from the remote machine via Windows Explorer:
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\RANT
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VERITAS Shared
5. Empty the Recycle Bin and reboot the remote machine which the Backup Exec Remote Agent was installed on, to complete removal of the agent
