When CASO is constituted from Backup Exec 2010 and CAS is downed,

By setting change of MMS From MMS   
Is there how to change into a stand-alone server?

You can try to go to TOOLS>>Instal Options and License Keys and then uncheck the Managed Media server option.....

Hi,

If the CASO is down, there is no way to remove an MMS from the CASO until communication is re-established.

You can edit the CASO server out of the registry. You need to do a search under the HKEY_LOCALMACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Symantec key for the name of the CASO and replace it with the name of your media server.

The key name you're looking for specifically is: DjmPrimaryServer. Simply edit it and change the name as mentioned.

When CASO is sharing the device, is there any method of starting MMS which is referring to it?

It did not start, when this share was referred to. ..

...sharing what type of device? Not sure on this question, or what you mean by it.

If a device is shared, it's shared amongst all MMS servers...they'd all refer to it through the CASO. If your CASO is down, and your MMS servers can't run a backup, then you're centralising your catalog and data information. It's great while it works, but when CASO is down, everything is down.

Replicating information between the MMS and CASO is probably a better option, and on slow WAN links, storing that information locally on the MMS servers even better...

I only say that it cannot use that the shared device cannot be used if you can understand since it is natural,

but the server which is sharing the device is downed, and want you to start a media server. ....
