BE2010 LiveUpdate fails with error LU1814

There is a media server of Backup Exec 2010 R3 in which is not possible to  download its updates using LiveUpdate.

This server also runs the SEP client that is configured to retrieve its updates from the SEPM server (another internal server).

So, based on the following technote, I have to configured the LiveUpdate Administration utility to download the Backup Exec updates too:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH16152

But I didn't understand well the steps... It says that I have to run the LUAU (LiveUpdate utility). Where is supposed to find it: BE server o SEPM server?.
I didn't find it in either of them. I wonder if those steps apply also for BE 2010....

Someone did it before? I'll apreciate some help on this!

Btw, the LiveUpdate version is 3.3.012

Opt out Backup Exec from other updates...This would ensure couple of things...Backup Exec would not get updated when other products such as SEP are being updated...secondly, only running LiveUpdate from the Backup Exec gui would update Backup Exec (or manually download and install as an alternative)...

I used the BeUpdateOps.exe to register Backup Exec with LiveUpdate. At first, I tried with the OptOut switch and then I ran LiveUpdate from Backup Exec GUI and it failed with same error LU1814. Then, I registered it using the OptIn switch but it failed one more time.

Hi Sameer,

Thanks for your sugestion... Here my comments:

That is the technote I've reviewed since the beginning because fits more with my current situation. But I didn't understand well the steps... It says that I have to run the LUAU (LiveUpdate utility). Where is supposed to find it: BE server o SEPM server?.

I already checked every workaround suggested at this technote. But  almost either none of them worked. The last workaround is about a pending reboot and I have to try it yet.

I haven't checked this one. Even though is not the same error I got,  let me see if there is a workaround can help me.

Regards...
