BE2010 R3 SP1, Autoloader NEC T30, Jobs bleiben in der Wartschlange hängen ohne Fehler

Hallo an alle Forumbenutzer,

Technische Daten:

Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP1 Hotfix 167567

LSI SAS Controller 9200-8E

Windows 2008 Server 64bit(darunter VMWare ESXi 5.0.0, 469512)

Problemstellung:

Adamm Mover Error: Unload Rewind Failure!
 Error = ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION
 Drive = "IBM 0001"
 {C4568660-4301-475B-A24A-C0BE69933545}
 Media = ""
 {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
 Read Mode: SingleBlock(0), ScsiPass(0)
 Write Mode: SingleBlock(1), ScsiPass(1)

It does not matter whether the controller is in the VMware HCL.  It is what is supported by BE that is important and that is covered by the document quoted by CraigV.

The recommendation from Symantec is to use a physical server for your media server, especially if you are going to use a tape drive.  See the the discussion below and note the part about virtualised media server is an alternative configuration.

Hi,

Are you running BE 2010 R3 in a VM? If so, the LSI card isn't supported by VMware...it has to be an Adaptec card, and that explains why the autoloader doesn't work properly.

Please check the Symantec TN below...this is a Vmware issue/requirement, not Symantec...

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130609

Thanks!

Hi Craig,

in the HCL from VMWare(ESXi 5.0) there is this LSI Controller testet and approved!

Model: SAS9200-8e VID: 1000
Device Type: SAS DID: 0072
Partner Name: LSI SVID: 1000
Firmware Version: MPT2BIOS-7.17.00.00,MPTFW-09.00.00.00-1E SSID: 30B0
Number of Ports: 8
Notes:

Which Adaptec Card are funktional für SAS and the NEC T30 Autoloader?

...not sure. You need to check the HCL from VMware's side and make sure that using that card, an autoloader is supported.
