BE2010 and Exchange 2000

Do not seem to get along. 12.5 did.

The 2010 SCL says yes (and maybe), and BE2010 says:

e0000f20 - Backup operations for Exchange Server 2000 are not supported by this version of Backup Exec. Remove the resource or resources from the selection list. Edit the selection list properties, click the View Selection Details tab, and then remove the resource.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-3872

neither the error or the link exist in the support db.

Have tried file, drive (C: and M:) all get the same result.

Bottom line is, I suppose, no.

Am I missing an option? Media server WS2008 x64, target is SBS2000.

The 2010 SCL does not list Exchange 2000 under the supported Database Agent Compatibility.
Exchange 2000 is listed under the Support End of Life section, which means it is no longer supported by this version of Backup Exec.

Perhaps Symantec could be so kind as to remove the entries that state Backup Exec supports Exchange 2000 so companies won't be mislead into considering the products compatible.

This enhanced agent now includes continuous data protection for Exchange Server and revolutionizes data protection and recovery by eliminating the daily backup window for Exchange backup jobs while still allowing recovery of individual messages, folders and mailboxes—in seconds. Additionally, administrators do not need to run a mailbox (or MAPI) backup, which significantly reduces the number of backups and time required to protect Exchange. The enhanced Exchange Agent can granularly recover from a single full backup, eliminating the need for multiple Exchange backups. Fast, flexible technology protects vital Exchange Server 2000, 2003, 2007 and now 2010 data while the application is still online.

Just a thought.
