We run Backup Exec 2012 SP4 with the following hotfixes: 215906, 216746 and 217347. Via Live Update I don't get any new updates.
We have numerous backup jobs all going to deduplication storage, some duplicated to tape (where we don't experience an exipration date problem as mentioned here http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH198691
Full backups are weekly and set to 3 weeks expiration, daily incremental backups are set to 1 week expiration.
Before SP4 we already had some backup jobs with wrong expiration date which I deleted manually. But now expired backups get a new exipration date of mostly (but not all) exactly one year.

In the image the marked backup set marks the last one which got the wrong new expiration date. All below have also an expiration date roughly set to another year after expiration.
