BE2014 - Optimized deduplication duplicate jobs slowing down

Hi,

We have an optimized deduplication solution in place with an MMS and CASO across a WAN link.The solution was always working fine and the duplicate jobs across the WAN always completed in time. As of late the duplicates seem to be taking longer each day(up to 18hours already). Nothing has changed, the data has no grown and infact the SQL databases on one of the servers is no longer used. The problem seems to be with any SQL or exchange databases which are taking the longest.

Any suggestions on improving this?

The jobs used to finish in 2 hours, now we sitting on close to 18.

Check the pd.conf file if OPTDUP_BANDWIDTH is set to any specific value or not.

Additionally, have you tried recreating the duplicate job ?

Hi,

Any changes in your antivirus? Make sure it isn't activey scanning the BE services on those servers, and if so, put in exclusions for them.

Also make sure that the AV isn't actively scanning the dedupe folders and put in exclusions for them too.
