BE2014 scheduling, running Jobs for one server simultaneously

Hi,

i have following Job config..

ServerA:

Backup 2 Disk SQL - 8:00 pm

Backup 2 Disk inc (log) - 8:00 pm

The problem is that the log backup never runs, only if i start it manually. Is it because they are scheduled at the same time? When i config the Job with 1 hour time difference both jobs run successfully.

Works as designed or problem?

It works as design. The log backup job is superceeded by the other job

I'm assuming you aren't using BE for log management either? The backup job for your databases will back up and clean up your logs at the same time. Are you making a maintenance plan to handle the logs? If so, you might be able to do the same job making incr job backups with the same timeframe inside backup exec.

There are some restrictions, but you will get a much better result, and avoid log timing errors.

When you back the databases, the logs will not be truncated. Having a SQL maintenance plan usually interferes with the BE SQL backup sequence and is not recommended
