BEError(0xe0001402) This server name is not in Backup Exec server's authentication list

hi, all

We are using BackupExec 2012 and been using it for our Oracle backup for months, few days ago, the backup job suddenly fail with error

"BEError(0xe0001402) This server name is not in Backup Exec server's authentication list. Enter the server's fully qualified domain name and logon account into the Backup Exec server's authentication list. Server names in the authentication list are case-sensitive."

Our Oracle server with fully qualified domain name is still in the Backup Exec server's authentication list. Nothing had been changed.

I monitored the backup job and found that the job went smoothly in backuping and verifying...and in the last step, the error prompt.

I done the catalog database consistency check and found no error at all.

The error occured only when we backup the Oracle instance but it's run ok if we backup normal file in the server.

Is there anyone out there know why?

Thanks

Vincent

Has anything changed like the passwords to the Backup Exec account or the Oracle account ?

Try recreating the Oracle backup job and recheck. If it still fails, delete the Oracle server from the Backup & Restore tab and re-add it using the FQDN and recheck. (This step will clear all the job history, job definitions and the backup will have to be recreated)

Lastly, if the above steps do not work, recheck the configuration and the credentials using these KBs ~

Hi,

Nothing been changed to the accounts.

I recreate a backup job but still the same error.

If I delete the Oracle server from the Backup and Restore tab and re-add it back, can the old backup data in the tape still be used in restoration?

Thanks

Yes, you can still restore the data provided it is still present in the disk/tape media.

Hi,

It's work now after I delete the server and add back, recreate the backup job...

I am going to verify if those old backup can be restored or not.

Thanks
