BEWS Support Licence question

Hi, we have bought a Basic support option for BEWS 9.1 some time agoand my question is do we have a right to use BEWS 10.0 ? We ar planning to buy support for the next year and should know if we will be able to use v10 or not.
I do not understand precisely the difference between updates and upgrades.

Kris,

If you are currently in a valid support contract for BEW 9.1, then you do have the right to upgrade to BEW10. You should renew your support on 9.1 by purchasing equivalent support on 10. That is how we have done it at our company.
The same would hold true if you had support for NetBackup Professional 3.6. You are entitled to upgrade to BEW 10 as the NetBackup Product has been put end of life and is replaced by BEW.
We have upgraded all of our 9.1 licensing to version 10 in this manner.
