BEX 2014 SP2 exact limits for GPT and GRT (2 TB) and VMware vSphere 5.5

Where are the exact limit for enabling GRT backup/restore within an VMware environment?

Symantec documents tell me use anything below 2TB.

I´ve created a VMDK with (vCenter told me) 1,99902344 TB capacity.

Windows Server 2012 R2 disk manager reports a BASIC (MBR partitioning) disk with 2047,00 GB capacity.

Windows Explorer told me 1,99 TB = 2.197.946.363.904 Bytes.

So the important question is: what is the exact limit / border to use GRT successfully

in thie situation?

I know that BEX 2015 will solve this problem ;)

Thanks a lot

Andreas

...here are the best practices where it states it must be under 2TB. As long as you're under 2TB you would be fine.

Thanks!

As long as you can create a disk using MBR, then you are under 2TB which is the physical limit for MBR disks.
