Hi there,
We have recently added a Synology NAS to our storage setup and we would like Backup Exec to backup the files on it to tape.
I have managed to add it to a share, but each time the backup runs it complains about not having a remote agent. The NAS obviously can't have a remote agent, so the error as shown in the attachment is just annoying and makes all the jobs appear as though they didn't complete properly.
Is there a better way to do this and/or suppress this warning about the remote agent for a NAS?
Thanks

Unfortunately, no. This is a warning for all remote servers and thus cannot be suppressed/avoided.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That's a shame, but we'll just have to put up with it.
Is there any more official or other way to backup a NAS, @pkh ?

If your NAS is capable of NDMP, you can back it up this way, but NDMP is a payable option and it does have its own set of plus/minus.
