Backing Up a 2008 share thats on a cluster?

Paulio
Level 3

I have a Windows 2008 clustered SQL installation and I want to be able to do a simple file backup. The file is on a share and its just a "mydatabase.bak" file, across the network and is on a different firewall tier (rules in place)

My issue is that if I connect from my backup server to the share "\\cluster\backups" just via normal windows it connects and I can see the files. If I connect to the share via backup exec it gives me "access is denied" (share and folder security are ok as proved by connecting under the backup account via windows)

Also, if I try to connect to a node in the cluster to try a backup "\\node1\backup" then the RAWS agent just stops, nothing appears in the RAWS log (start service with -debug)

What I'm trying to do is straight forward but I'm getting problems doing the most basic operations. Can anyone shed any light on the "accessed is denied" issue or the RAWS agent crashing issue?

Thanks

Paulio
