Backing up over Backbone

We have a Back up server backing up 4 SQL Servers, and an Exchange server. We have a 10/100 network and a Gigabit LAN backbone that all servers are connected to. For some reason, when I run backups, it will transfer data to the backup server over the 10/100 connection rather than the Gigabit connection. Even when I choose the NIC card to use for backups in Veritas, It will either tell me that it cannot find the servers, or will just use the 10/100 connection. How do I resolve this?

I just called Symantec on this issue. Apparenty I needed to add the IP addresses into a User defined selection list:

First, on the backup server I had to go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, then edit the hosts file and add its gigabit IP address to the list.
Then in Backup Exec, I had to add the IP address of the remote server to the user-defined seletions in the selections window. Then from there, pick the folders I need backed up. I went from 600MB/MIN(if that) to at most, 2000MB/MIN.
