Backp Exec media server and four NICs

Hello!

 

My server has four NICs at one subnet - 192.168.0.[86-89].

I'm sure I experienced problems with remote agent connection and discovering due to NIC teaming (which I turned off) as well as because of they are running parallelly. I think the problem was because some agents tried to contact with BE media server using media server DNS name... and there were four different IP addresses for one server at DNS database. So, media server could contact agent using different IP address than the address the agent sent data to.

I turned three NICs off and there are no problems with connections now.

So, my question is - is it possible to have them working if they exists already on the board without interrupting influence for BE Media Server?

I know there is an option for specific NIC... but should it work?

BE does not support NIC teaming and you already has experienced the problem yourself.

If you want you can select the specific NIC for the job to use by going to the Network and Security section of the job properties.
