Hello,
After updating the instance of MS SQL Server to version 2016, my BackupExec stopped making copies from this instance.
Error:
Failure to browse 'SHAREPOINT'.
A network connection to the server could not be established.
Without BackupExec upgrade it is impossible to solve this problem?

Hi,
SQL 2016 and SQL 2016 SP1 are both supported for BE 16:
https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/BE_16_SCL
...but not for BE 2014 which is what you are running:
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/doc/BE_2014_SCL
You would need to either downgrade your SQL version to a supported version (latest was SQL 2014) and hope you have a copy of the original BEDB, or look to upgrade to BE 16.
Thanks!

If that database does contain Sharepoint data then it should be backed up via the Sharepoint Farm object and not via the SQL instance - and of course as per CraigVs answer, both SQL and Sharepoint versions do have to be supported within the SCL of the Backup Exec version.
