I want to take backup for windows 2008 R2,2003 domain controllers, and exchange 2007 servers using backup exec 2012.

In advanced open file option i can see

Automatic-Allow VSS to select the snapshot provider
System - Use Microsoft Software shadow copy provider
Hardware- Use technology provider by hardware manufacturer.

which option should i choose and what is recommended.
i have set  full backups weekly and daily system state(no incremental or decremental).
can i go with it.

Under Active Dir tab i have checked all options for GRT.

2. I have exchange servers 2007 and one of the exchange is installed on DC.
please do guide me how to set backups(recommended) and GRT.

For AOF, you can use automatic.

To recover your server, you need to backup the entire C: drive and the system state at the same time.  If you just backup the system state, it may not be in sync with the contents of the C: drive and hence not usable.

To do GRT backups of AD, you need to install an Agent for Application and Database licence on your media server.

You can backup the entire server, including Exchange and AD.  For this server, you would need 2 Agent for Applications and Databases licences, one for Exchange and one for AD.

As I said in my earlier reply, use automatic
