Did you install the licence for the NDMP option on the media server?

I'd request you to install the latest updates associated to Backup Exec 2012. Please refer to the following link to get more details on it: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH195037

What version of VNX are you using?  Is it listed on the BE HCL?

Just to add to this VNX 8.1 is not supported yet - although not sure what error condition you might see if you have 8.1 and try to use BE with it.

Thank you, install the latest BE Server version (2012 SP3) to solve this problem, I would like to ask a question, EMC NAS backup type is DUMP or VBB?
DUMP and VBB What's the difference?

...the OP clearly stated it was a VNX5300 which is on the HCL.

Thanks!

Backup Exec only supports the Dump type of Backup for EMC NAS devices. Refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH51276 . One of the major difference between DUMP and VBB(also known as NVB (NDMP Volume Backup)) is that for DUMP you can create exclusions(select specific files and directories that you do not want to include in the backup job) but If you select VBB as the backup method, exclusions are ignored.

thank you, sidd3009. but Backup EXEC versioin is 14.0 Revision 1798 (64 bit).
Currently two kinds of backup types I have done a test,
VBB speed at about 40M / s ,DUMP speed at about 90M / s.
The KB(http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH51276) has a new update thing?

It applies to all the versions from Backup Exec 11d and above. With the kind of speed you are getting for DUMP(and its support with Symantec), I'd suggest you go for the DUMP type backups.
