Backup Error e00084ed

Hi,

I’m running on Backup Exec 10.0 rev 5484 with two LIB 81A Sony libraries.
I have got these two systems for 3 or 4 years. I never had had any problems until I decided to change the cartridges two months ago. I bought exactly the same. With these new cartridges, I can label media , rename, erase etc … I can also start the backup but the backup never finishes. I have the error message :
Error category : Backup Device
ErrorsError : e00084ed - A hardware error occurred.
For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-34029

I also used these cartridges on the second library, I had the same message.
The backuped capacity is always different : Most of the time I backup 50 Go max and at other times, I can backup until 150 Go. But, I repeat again the backup is never complete.
I also use a Sony tools to diagnose the Library and read-write on the cartridges. There is no problems on the diagnostic report.

After that, if I re-use old cartridges, I meet no problems.

Do you have some ideas to help me ?

Thanks in advance

Try by updating your drivers for Backup Exec and see if that solves it.

if the old tapes still work, it probably is not a driver or hardware problem

What kind of drives are in these Libraries?  There have been problems reported here on the board wth LTO (Specififcally LTO2 and LTO4) using tapes initialized by BackupExec.  In many cases the problem was solved by using the mfg utility to initlize the tapes

If the issue is reproducible, you should be able to use the tracer tool to see what the exact hardware error is.
