Backup Exec 10 SP3 very slow after install Trend Micro on media server.

Ever since we installed Trend Micro Office Scan 7 on our media server our backups are a 1/2 the speed of what they used to be. We have tried shutting down the service during the backups but that has not helped any. Any idea why this might be happening?

Also check if there are any errors in the event logs. Are you taking the backup on a tape or a backup to disk folder? What type of data are you backing up? In case you are not at the latest version of backup exec, upgrade to it from the following link:
