Hi All,
We have a frustrating issue with a customer at the moment and have exhausted our options so it would seem.
They are planning a server upgrade in the not too distant future but wont buy new backup software until then.
The problem is this:
We have configured backup jobs to run to 3 rotated USB Hard Drives.
The jobs work fun UNTIL Backup Exec needs to clean up space in the drives by deleting old jobs.
The cleanup job is successful and works but leaves the drive showing as having low disk space in the Devices screen.
After this the backup job fails with an agent communication error.
If we pause the device and then unpause it the low disk space warning goes away and the backup works 100% until the next low disk space warning on the subsequent disk.
Short of scripting the device and media services to stop and restart before every backup we are at a loss as to what to do.
Incidentally another thing we checked was to make sure the media is in a valid group and not the Backup Exec and Windows NT Backup media set.
Any help would be appreciated!!
