Hi,

      We are using 400GB tape for take backup. In backup software going to select the tape and check the size it's showing wrong info.

Any one sugguest.......

I doubt it is the issue with drivers installed for the tape drive. Install the latest symantec drivers.

BE reports only native capacity of the tape in console not compressed. For example if you are using LTO 2 tapes, those are of 200GB capacity in Native mode and 400 GB in Compressed mode. BE displays ~200GB (around 196GB if i remember exactly) as capacity.

If BE is not reporting as above mentioned and far less than native capacity, install the latest symantec drivers for the tape drive and see if that helps....

Hi,

 

As i know. but here it's shows only 40GB. used 37GB, free 3GB. this is wrong info.

The drivers for Tape drive or Symantec product?

Installing the package given in that TN on media server updates the drivers of tape devices connected to that.

Yes.  You should also look into upgrading your BE.  It is a very old version and may not support the latest hardware.
