Backup Exec 12.5 B2D duplicates failing, Error=1450

Hi,

Running BE 12.5 on WIndows 2003.

We are having trouble getting B2D duplicates onto tape.

This is the error I'm getting in BE
Duplicate
An unknown error occurred on device "B2D- Working".
V-79-57344-33992 - The backup storage device has failed.
V-79-57344-65072 - The connection to target system has been lost. Backup set canceled.
These are the event messages for that job.

what type of backup to disk folder is this?
A usb disk, nas or local disk?
Same partion as other program are installed on?

We are doing a backup from a remote server to the local disk on the BE server.

The entire disk is dedicated to B2D jobs. The OS and BE are on a completely seperate disk and the only other program of note installed on the backup server is VMWare Server 1.6
