Backup Exec 12.5 IDR - bare metal restore from disk-based backup?

Hi,
Does anyone know if the IDR will allow a bare metal restore for a server from disk-based backup media (such as a USB HD) and if it can be done effectively on dissimilar hardware?
If it is possible I would appreciate being directed to instructions/guidance notes.

Although Backup Exec IDR does feature some limited functionaility for restoration on dissimilar hardware - I would actually suggest you look at the Restore Anywhere option in Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR). Which is a separate product based on the old Live State Recovery technology (so is a block level backup instead of a file level backup)

BESR is supported by a different forum and the latest version is BESR 2010
