Backup Exec 12.5 - Windows could not start the Backup Exec Job Engine Service

Backup Exec 12.5 - SP2 + hotfixes

Windows could not start the Backup Exec Job Engine Service  on the local computer - error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start.

Seeing this on a number of different SBS 2008 servers now.

A restart sometime fixes this for a short time but it seems to reoccur again.

Have done a complete uninstall and re-install and this seems to have fixed one installation.

But what is causing this and can it be fixed without resorting to complete removal and re-installation ?

Ah...have just noticed that an event in the event log appears to indicate that the Backup Exec Job Engine could not start due to the Backup Exec Remote Agent service not being started.

The Backup Exec Remote Agent service is in a 'stopping' condition ????...guess this is what is causing this..

Any ideas anyone ?

First make sure you have out look set as your default mail client
go tool | Internet option | Programs make sure you have your email client as outlook if not outlook installed let it be outlook express
Remote agent work on prot 10000 make sure not other application usign port 10000
let me know if you can get the remote agent service started after performing the above steps
