Backup Exec 12.5 ans Services Manager

Hi,

I have a Windows 2003 SBS that has Backup Exec 12.5 installed. When I look at the Task Manager, the process "ServicesMgr.exe" is running consistantly at 25%. I know this is the Services Manger for Backup Exec. I have tried shutting down all of the BE services and it doesn't affect the ServicesMgr.exe process.

My questions:

Any reason its using that much processing power?
Is it nessesary?
Can I just kill the process?

Thanks,

MIke

Mike,
Has it always been like that? Have you tried a reboot on this server and then check the process? It might have happened because you would have tried restarting services using Backup Exec service manager. A reboot should fix it. You may also kill it from the task manager, without affecting Backup Exec. Click on tools-> services in BE console, after you have killed it to observe the CPU usage through task manager, once it is restarted.

Please mark it a solution, if this is useful.
Thanks
