Backup Exec 12.5 causing server reboot

Hello,

We have an issue with Backup Exec 12.5 where it causes the server to reboot. To try and fix the problem I fully removed Backup Exec and rebooted the server, I then reinstalled and chose not to run any updates. Now the backups would run without the server rebooting but they would fail on the Exchange GRT backup to a NAS device. This according to Symantec is fixed in a hotfix included in the service packs, so I again update the Backup Exec 12.5 installation to the latest service packs and the reboots happen again.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

Thanks

Eusebio

I have seen this issue when you use aofo backup with exchange or aofo backups but didn't see any issues with the symantec updates causing it.

Can you please tell us at what point is it rebooting. Is it doing it while doing the backups of any type or just anytime when the backups are not running.

I have seen cases when it tries to backup exchange and reboots but if it reboots by itself without any backups then there might be something else we need to look.

Do your backups finish? or does the reboot happen in the middle of the job?

Do you Logs show any other problems?
