Backup Exec 12.5 hangs the server

Our Backup Exec job for backing up Exchange 2003 on the Windows 2003 SBS server starts at  1:00am.
At least once a week about 5 minutes after the backup starts we get the following event in our logs and the server hangs.
Event ID 2102  Category Topology Source MSExchangeDSAccess.
I reboot and we are fine for a few more days.
What resolution would you recommend?

This issue may occur if the Exchange Enterprise Servers security group does not have "Manage auditing and security logs" permissions on the domain controller. The Exchange Enterprise Servers group must have "Manage auditing and security logs" permissions on all of the domain controllers in the domain.

check this out first to make sure it is not the source of the problem.
