Backup Exec 12.5 problems with USB Drives

Hi Guys,

We have been running bacuk exec for many years now with external usb drives but over the last couple of months backup exec has decided to notice that the drive is there but once the scheduled jobs starts its just que's the job and does nothing else.

I have tried checking for updats as last time this worked as there was a small hotfix missing, we have downed all the services and then brought them back up, powered down the drives themselves and powered them up again. i have even resorted to powering down teh server last week (which did work once) but now doesnt,

Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone else use 12.5 with external usb drives. ????

Hi Shandco,

Can  you copy anything to the HDDs in Windows? This eliminates a comms issue.
If you can check, do your jobs run to specific folders? Do you have enough space in the folders for backups?

yeah the drives are fine in windows,
 
The jobs run to the drive itself and not a specific folder, we have one drive per day that only holds the backup data (about 98gb), once the drives are full they are formatted to use again.

Each drive holds about 5-6 backups before it is full.

I am currently trying to use a totally wiped drive.
