Backup Exec 15 FP2 configuring Amazon Cloud server name

Hi,

Running Backup Exec 15 FP2 on Windows Server 2012 R2, trying to configure Cloud Connector for Amazon S3

I'm following these instructions.

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000081253

It says the to enter the server name as:

amazon:amazon.com

I'm getting an error on this. Is this address correct for FP2?

Only non-conventional thing I'm doing is running this as a virtual server in Azure.

Thanks,

Robin

You are running the media server in Azure?  I don't think this configuration is supported.

Yes I am running a lab in Azure. Maybe the connection to Amazon is being blocked. I'll have the production environment setup on a physical server today or early next week, so I'll post back if I get the same error.

http and https traffic has to be available outbound from the Backup Exec Server to the internet (which potentially matches you and pkh's comments)

Also make sure your username and password are the keys supplied by Amazon (so username is random characters as well as password.)

Http and https traffic work just fine on the server.

Can anyone confirm they've set this up themselves and what did they use for the servername field?

"amazon:amazon.com" just seems like a strange value, though the article for Google cloud is similar, "google:google.com"
